Quantum Health Connect

We are bringing Scotland's quantum sector together with NHS and healthcare innovation experts to create a roadmap for quantum-enabled healthcare and the Healthtech industry in Scotland.

The UK Government says by 2030 every NHS Trust in England will benefit from quantum sensing-enabled solutions, helping those with chronic illness live healthier, longer lives through early diagnosis and treatment.

This is an ambitious target. But in Scotland, we are already in a unique position to deliver on this. Here we have a strong quantum sector allied to a vibrant and growing MedTech sector with close connections and collaborations with NHS boards.

The two-day workshop is hosted by TayMed Connect, a MedTech innovation partnership between the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside, will bring together the combined experiences and expertise of the EPSRC-funded Tay Health Tech place-based impact accelerator, Scottish Enterprise-funded Medical Devices Manufacturing Centre, the Photonics and Quantum Accelerator and is funded by the Quantum ARC.

On day one of the workshop, we will hear from each of our different communities, from quantum science to the innovation experts, clinicians and the NHS.

There will also be networking and workshop activities to help us to learn each other’s challenges and solutions; these will be brought together on day two to explore what opportunities exist for Scotland to lead in quantum healthcare technologies.

The ultimate goal of the event will be to create the necessary foundations for a basic roadmap for quantum healthcare tech in Scotland. We are keen to involve all sectors to ensure this is as inclusive a roadmap as possible.

We look forward to seeing you there.
