ENFSI Forensic AI Conference 2026 6th -7th July 2026 |
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the Forensic AI Conference (FAIC), July 6-7 at the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science at the University of Dundee, UK. The development, application and validation of AI in the various forensic fields sees growing attention in institutes and universities throughout Europe and the world. FAIC aims to provide a platform for this emerging field, bringing together forensic data scientists to showcase their work, learn from each other and form collaborations across the various forensic subfields.
The subject of FAIC is the development, validation and application of machine learning, in particular deep learning, in all fields of forensic science, including forensic medicine and digital forensics. Primarily, the conference aims to bring together forensic data scientists for in-depth discussions. Secondarily, the conference gives a stage for these specialist to provide accessible talks on AI to the wider forensic community. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Automated triage of traces, such as finding relevant text messages, micro traces or biological stains.
- Automation of analysis tasks, such as allele calling or GCMS compound detection.
- Supporting forensic processes, e.g. speech recognition on the crime scene.
- Likelihood ratio systems, e.g. for biometrics, firearms or age estimation.
- Generation and detection of deepfake image, audio and video.
Day 1 will consist of short, technical talks - for and by technical experts. Day 2 will feature break-out sessions on selected topics for free and in-depth discussions, or even setting up a proof of concept. In parallel, this day will feature longer, more introductory talks aimed at a wider audience, which will also be available to online participants. There will be a maximum of 80 live attendees, to facilitate interaction. However, there will be no restriction on the number of remote followers on day 2.
For AI developers:
One day of technical talks on AI throughout forensic science.
One day of either in-depth discussions and workshops, or following introductory talks on a specific topic.
For the whole forensic community:
Learn about AI in forensic science from the experts, either on-site or online.
We look forward to seeing you in July,

One part of the initiative is a small mandatory charge as part of every fare; with funds then invested in internationally accredited carbon offset schemes to take the same amount of carbon out of the atmosphere that each flight produces. While the carbon offsetting programme is the first step, Loganair have also been engaging with leading aerospace and technology companies to ensure we can have the systems we need to achieve our carbon-neutral goal.
